Well I picked this up from young @Burns-bass this very morn. (Always a pleasure L.)

Its fab. Ran it through the wee Gnome/EA set up and it sounded ace.

My mate is going to fashion a bracket for the back so I can use it with a stand like an NS. Despite L’s rather low key ad description, it’s actually nicely made with a good quality feel in your hands.
Little bit o’ fettling with the bridge and it’s good to go.
Also love the fact that it folds down for easier transport.
Happy Slappy! 😎

It's a pretty cool design, and if it sounds good you're on to a winner!

I'd be sorely tempted to try and fashion wooden replacements for the brackets, that would finish it off really nicely.

Once the stand is made I’ll probably ditch the body brackets.

Great! It’s a lovely instrument and certainly quirky.

I bought this from the builder. He used to make these maybe 15 years ago. No longer made but all hand built. It’s certainly not created by an amateur, it’s a high class thing.

Some steam-bent high-end birch ply would look lovely...

I don't think you can steam bend ply, but you could certainly laminate up something nice from veneers. Robbins Timber in Bristol are the people to go to for the materials.
