After trying a few compressors this and last year and nearly settling on the Boss LMB3 i decided to get ( again ) the Ampeg Opto Comp pedal.

I really like what this pedal adds ( a warm vibe ) and it pairs very well with my Ampeg SGT-Di ( in front of )

Im playing more with a pick and this adds a nice roundness to the sound and keeps the low end from booming.

It’s £89 new so a bargain and a very good compressor for my needs.

Definitely worth checking out

I’ve just picked up one of these - thanks @fretmeister - used it this evening at band practice and agree it really helps tame the low end. I’ve had a good few compressors but this one just seems to work for me, with hardly any compression on, just at 9 o’clock. From reading reviews this seems how most people tend to use it.

Yes still have mine, warm tone from it and it just works.

Just tried mine again with a pick and it really warms things and fattens the sound nicely

I believe it’s because it’s Optical ?

At 12 o’clock compression setting they state it’s 3:1 compression

Its max clockwise is 10:1 so quite a low range and might be why it sounds so sweet !
