charic
I have a peavey millenium bxp that ive being trying to sell and cant really move. The whole reason for me trying to sell it was because I had issues with the neck being so thin. How would I go about refitting it with a fender or warwick sized neck? It isnt as easy as a straight swap is it?
The Burpster
Fender or Warwick sized neck? I feel you need to be a bit more specific here..... Is it nut width, depth of the neck, Radius /profile of the back, radius of the fingerboard???? or a combination......????? In theory all you need is a neck of the same scale length, and same number of frets, and then get the socket and neck dimensions to match. Any difference in pitch can be shimmed...... Does that help? charic
Sorry for being unspecific but im not entirely sure. The actual neck is way to thin for my hands. What do you mean by shimmed?
The Burpster
The physical diemensions need to be correct, ie scale length, neck pocket diemensions. However the angle the neck (bolt on obviously) has in realtion to teh body can be shimmed to help angles of strings...... Check this for a definition of shimming: http://www.pittmanguitarrepair.com/index.c...849F496817A9522
