knarfsnrub
Hello Fellow Bass Lovers! My username, knarfsnrub, is my real name spelled back-to-front -- i.e., Frank Burns -- and I live in London. I have two electric basses. One is a Kubicki-ExFactor (red with an ebony fretboard) and the other is a 5-string MusicMan Stingray (black with a maple fretboard). I have had the necks beautifully slimmed down, on both basses, by Martin Peterson (of "The Bass Gallery" in Camden, London), and they are set up with a low action, so they play extremely easily with a very light touch, which is just how I like it. 🙂 I've been playing bass in bands, for fun, on and off for about three decades. My favourite music to play is anything with a strong and upfront groove -- so things like Motown, Jazz Funk, Acid Jazz, etc., fit the bill perfectly. Favourite bass players, in no particular order, include Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, James Jamerson, Stuart Zender, Jaco Pastorius, Pino Palladino, Joe Dart, Meshell Ndegeocello, Francis Rocco Prestia, Mark King, Verdine White, Freddie Washington, Jimmy Haslip. What basses do you have? What kinds of music do you like to play and what do you like to listen to? Who are your favourite bass players? Edited June 30, 2023 by knarfsnrub Punctuation correction. msb
I’m a colonial , but welcome ! This is a nice diverse group . I initially joined to learn more about amps and cabs that we rarely see over on this side of the Atlantic. There’s some wonderful stuff that unfortunately doesn’t have much of a presence here.
