BassAdder60
Decided to go black on the pickguard and I’m liking the look
alexa3020
Black looks good. I Prefer it to the white for sure. I never find 3rd party pick guards fit 100% correctly (unless thats genuine fender?$$$). Screws sitting slightly off axis does annoy me - similar to amp overhang Edited July 4, 2023 by alexa3020

BassAdder60
Gig night tonight with the Jazz bass and this time playing it with a pick In fact a Yellow 0.73mm Tortex Triangle pick ! MXR EQ pedal set for pick tone ( Mids reduced and 100hz boosted. ) Sounds sweet at home, fingers crossed it sounds good loud. Both pups on full and tone backed off a little
BassAdder60
Wow … I found a great tone with the Jazz bass … not fingerstyle but a pick and running both pups on full and the MXR EQ pedal to boost lows and cut mids. Best sound ive had live so far
Grassie
I love jazzes and have owned 5 (deluxe USA Fender 5, Fender Mex, Sire V7, Squier Affinity, G&L tribute JB1) and have always played with both pickups on full with the tone either full or at 50%. It really is the best passive set up, and they cut through without sounding thin or brittle. I also love P basses but the versatility you get from a jazz is the deal breaker. 😊
