Waddo Soqable
I like the P on the left I really don't like the headstock on the other one.. (and it's a kind of jazz)
Mickyk
The Sire arrived today ,had to see what all the fuss was about, first impressions are shes definitely a looker but will she be a keeper, our date will start in 5 mins when ive set her up . She'll have to go some some to push my P aside. We'll see .

Waddo Soqable
Imho they ruin the look of a lot of basses that are otherwise a nice looking Fender copy by sticking some 'orrible shape headstock on it ( I didn't think Fender are like John Hall going mental about design patents etc either but? )
Nail Soup
Ref the thread title. Saying that a bass is your love is going quite far enough. Saying it's your lover is going too far. Edited July 3, 2023 by Nail Soup spelling
Nail Soup
But I'd probably go with the green one because I'm shallow and It's prettier.

asingardenof
I'm also torn between a P and a Sire J-style. I've been using my V7 for rehearsals and gigs for about the last six months, but using my P for home practice. I need to get the P back out into the wild again. When (if) I follow through with my plan to get a Sadowsky MX at Christmas, replacing the V7, I can see the P getting pushed to one side again so I should probably get on it! nilorius
Dohhhh..........there is no Fender p or Sire j, so don't choose anything
Marky L
Two ups! Both at the same time.. not sure how, but half the fun would be figuring that out 😉👍
Bassfinger
If that Jazz plays as sweetly as my Sire PB then I'd say the Jazz.
BlueMoon
I’m favouring the P bass.
Baloney Balderdash
The Jazz look cooler, but I am pretty certain doesn't sound nearly as great.
Rich
Isn't it a bit like choosing between an apple and an orange?
Tvrtastic
For me there is no such thing as ‘the one bass’. The P should be on flats, the J on rounds. Both keepers, and both different and worthy in own right.
Tvrtastic
My P (flats) and J (rounds and yes I took a saw to SIRE head) Spoiler Spoiler Edited July 3, 2023 by Tvrtastic Error!
