Jean-Luc Pickguard
I am looking to get a bass body refinished. The body has an existing roadworn factory nitro finish and will be sent for the refinish with all hardware removed. What names should I be looking at, where in the country are they based, and what are they likely to charge? I've not decided on a colour yet, but I'm leaning towards candy apple red, so doing it on the cheap with rattle cans probably won't cut it. TheGreek
Have you contacted your local body shop? Small businesses might be prepared to take the job on, especially if you do the preparation.
Trueno
Jack’s instruments in Manchester. Might be expensive, though.
warwickhunt
I'm sure there is a 'sticky' on the forum with recommendations. In the North I'd say it has to be Dave Wilson @ Hexham or Paul Richardson Guitars @ Durham (look him up on FB). Both are top notch and if they can fit you in (if the price is right) it'll only cost a tenner to post it... probably cheaper than driving to your local guy.
