Most people looking to buy a maple board fretless (which includes me at present), would need to see that the board is perfect or close to perfect before even setting out to try it. I've owned several and love them, but I've also seen - and in one case bought - some necks that looked perfect in photos only to find them close to unplayable as the result of the finish having worn in some places and not others, which is very common with these. J66Bass Posted July 21, 2023 Author Share Posted July 21, 2023 Sure no problem at all these pictures were taken outside for daylight early morning , and definitely do not represent the beauty I will do some tonight and videos and will try to find some on my mobile now , the bass from 1979 is as new for the age , I’m only selling it because it’s unlined and not confident to play with it , i collect 80.s bass and need back the money I spend last week on another line Aria fretless , it’s a lovely bass vey light super easy to play at a lovely price, I have sold 3/4 on this forum and always speak with honesty .. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I’ve routinely done it with Precisions (albeit Fenders) in the past and still have one that’s been strung that way for 20 years or more. I was interested in the maple FL neck but wasn’t the right fit for the body in question, and I didn’t want the bass as it is.
