Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 This looks cool https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/fender-fullerton-precision-bass-uke-wn-tspg-3-color-sunburst If I didn't already have a very nice kala which I hardly get the chance to use I'd probably be tempted by one of these. 7 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted July 14, 2023 Author Posted July 14, 2023 Weird - I just checked on my iPhone and it displays fine Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted July 14, 2023 Author Posted July 14, 2023 The white one looks rather nice as well 2 Quote

jd56hawk Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 I'm waiting for the official video. Not necessarily to hear how it sounds, but to hear how Fender tub-thumps it. Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) Nice! I wish they offered a fretless though. https://www.fender.com/en-GB/ukuleles/concert/fullerton-precision-bass-uke/0970583500.html Edited July 15, 2023 by dannybuoy 1 Quote

Seriously, they don't float my boat but I can see why they're attractive to people who like Ukes. I don't want to put a downer on this. 1 Quote
AndyTravis Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 I’d like to hear one, possibly to keep about at our caravan or something. Handy if it can do that thumpy upright thing Quote
Grahambythesea Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 (edited) Is there any point to the soundhole, the body doesn’t look thick enough to produce much of an acoustic sound and the scratch plate probably deadens it a bit more. Edited July 17, 2023 by Grahambythesea Spelling error 1 Quote

The soundhole makes it look funny. Other than that, I'd like to see this guy playing one. Quote
wateroftyne Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I hope I'm wrong, but I strongly suspect this will be absolutely pants. Quote

One for @Smanth if it had another string? 1 Quote

Indeed, I would have preferred to have seen a solid body version, much like the Harley Benton ones (as below). Less feed-back woes etc. Edited July 17, 2023 by MuddBass Quote

NoirBass Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Has anyone got one of these yet? I’ve seen a few pop up overseas. I put my money down months ago and still no sign, stock dates keep moving back. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Thomann has them listed as being in stock in 4-5 weeks Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 All that squeaking and rubbing is putting my teeth on edge 😖 1 Quote
NoirBass Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Mine arrived today. On first play it was quite buzzy, in need of a setup I suspect - quite fun though. However, plugging it in it sounded a whole lot better. Warm, rich low end and a decent, even articulate mid/top. It seems whoever was demoing the bass above left the tone control rolled full up, which does lead to it sounding horrible and scratchy. Set at midday or less allows the Uke to sound a lot like a standard bass particularly with its round wound strings. I’m warming to it slowly and hoping it’ll be more than just a novelty ‘mini’ bass. I shall test it out on a gig later this week and report back. I’m pretty sure my band mates will hate it! 😆 2 1 Quote
