New Aguilar Tonehammer DI incoming?

I would love to have loved this but I can see a couple of reasons why I wouldn't buy one:

1.  A Bass control centred at 40hz is surely only usable as a cut.  Boosting 40hz would just be mush.  Makes it a bit redundant IMO.  80hz or thereabouts would have been much more musical.

2.  I can't think of any reason why I would want to engage Bright/Deep mid-set that would require the use of a footswitch.  Perhaps a mute would have been better.

Depends

Aguilar and Sadowsky preamps are from a similar family design wise, the Sadowsky preamp is boost only at 40Hz and has been popular for a while... I've managed to use it without it being mush.

This Company has produced  'some' pedals that for myself remain unconvincing.

Their last micro Compression & Preamp offerings remain uninspiring & lackluster  so' viewing this.. their latest preamp offering it doesn't appear to cover any new ground...???? What's the big deal..??

Just spotted this. It seems they missed a trick here, in that it seems like a very clean preamp/DI. A second channel / footswitch for some drive / distortion would surely have been better, they could've still had the Bright and Deep options as buttons as well. It's good that they added headphone / AUX inputs, but a dirt option would've been excellent on this. . . like a scaled down Tone Hammer, with XLR out where (IMO) it should be, facing left.
