There's been a few posts about various Squier models on here recently so I thought a collective space to post pics of all those wonderful instruments would be lovely. ❤️

Ok, I’ll play…

Started off in 1983/4 with a black SQ Precision, my first gigging bass.

Added a Jazz bridge pick-up & eventually stripped it & refinished it, even defretted it…Played lovely as a fretless but I bought a Stingray fretless & moved on the Squier.

2012 needed a Jazz bass for the function band I was with…The two guitarists had purple Strats, the closest I could find was a Burgundy mist Squier infinity that I had to import from the US as it wasn’t a European listed colour at the time?
2021 saw me with a hankering for a P-bass again, but I wanted a white one with a maple board…The Squier affinity PJ fitted the bill perfectly..
2022 The call for Sunburst & blocks was strong….The VM 70’s answered 😄

The only 2 Squiers I've got, both very useful and fit for purpose.

The precision I haven't even bothered to take the cling film off despite having used it a fair bit!

(sorry about the crappy photos, taken on an equally crappy tablet)

The VM is now wearing it's original Black Pickguard again.

I've had plenty of Squier's over the years I still have this 80's JV 32" scale Jazz, strung with some sort of flats, I had a SQ 32" scale Precision for a while which was rather nice.

I now prefer short scale basses and I'm happier playing my Classic Vibe Mustang.

^^ That Contemporary 5-string looks absolutely stunning.. ❤️

It plays really well too!! Really happy with it! And it's also lighter than the Pbass!

I started on a Squier back in the 80s and the current crop are great. Having spent several years of the last decade only owning two basses (both Squiers), I currently only have my bass vi that is a Squier bass.

I also have a 6 & 12 string for writing songs.

I don't have much call for P basses, but everyone needs one, right? So this was my lockdown panic present, of which the body, knobs and scratchplate are original. Pickup is a Seymour Duncan housed in a cheap cream housing. Loom is Kiogon, neck and tuners are Fender 70s-style and bridge is one of them chunky Fender Mexico jobs.

My Squier Affinity Jazz, in Charcoal Frost Metallic. I replaced the black pickguard with a cheap tort one and added a tugbar, as I’m probably one of the few people that use them on the treble side. It’s got La Bella flats on it now also.

I originally wanted the Burgundy Mist Metallic version but everywhere was sold out so when Thomann were knocking these out for £175 I didn’t hesitate. Would have loved a blocks & bound neck on it but I think they only came with the 40th Anniversary Jazzes. Still an amazing bass regardless of cheapness 👍

I have owned several Squiers - early on I found out that I don't like Jazz basses by owning a Squier J.

I had a Squier bitsa P to which I added a humorous decal, an SD Quarter Pound and a Badass II bridge.  I wonder where it is now?

imprecision_bass.jpg.be48c02fa3ef132313e60ffbb7edb439.jpg

I also had a Squier Bronco which I modded quite extensively - full size tuners, BWB pickguard, thumbrest, lipstick pickup, Squier Vista Series Musicmaster bridge (4 saddle) and modded the bridge to accept top loading the string, then modded the bass to be strung through the body.  I wonder where it is too!

01_bronco_tuners_all.thumb.jpg.6e30a5131fd06fdb0e2d77337baea085.jpg

And here is my current Squier squeeze - a modded Squier Jaguar H with an Ibanez CAP double humbucker from an ATK810, a parallel/single/series switch, a BWB pickguard, a Guyker high mass bridge with brass, part threaded saddles, and block "inlay" stickers which I'm still in two minds about - they look OK from a distance but up close it's pretty obvious that they're stickers and I'm the one who's always seeing it up close...

So it seems that any Squier which comes in the door here is unlikely to remain in stock configuration...

My Squier Mike Dirnt.

In best ebay classifieds tradition, it's 100% original. Apart from the refinish. And the extra pickup. And the scratchplate. And the Hipshot D-tuner.
