ped
Hi everyone, Today I got the push notification system working on iOS. For those who don't know, this makes Basschat appear as an app on your Home Screen, and enables real time notifications (banners, sounds (not badges yet)) like you get in an app such as Facebook if someone uploads a picture of you naked. To enable this for yourself, simply save Basschat to your Home Screen as below by clicking the share icon whilst on the site: Now it'll appear on your Home Screen: Now open the 'app'. You may need to log in again. Head to Notification Settings (bell icon, then gear icon) and scroll to the bottom and click 'enable in this browser'. You'll get a system popup to confirm that you want Basschat to send notifications (which you can configure through the usual notification setting in iOS later): And now go through your notification settings one by one and activate the 'push' function as required: Any problems let me know... Cheers 1

TheGreek
Just installed the app on my phone. It crashed a couple of times while changing the settings. I was able to reload the page without issue though.

TheGreek
I've had it crash over 10 times in the last 24 hours. Android user.

Its just a launch of the web page, its not an app, so it is the web browser crashing.

Schlippy
It's only a tiny issue, but on android the notifications sent by the app/site don't get dismissed when they're clicked on. They redirect to the correct page but stay active in the notification log and have to be manually dismissed. Can get confusing if you've got multiple conversations on the go but like I say, hardly a showstopper. I don't know if this is configurable server side, usually it just requires setting a metadata tag on the notification payload but I dunno how much of the internal workings Invision exposes in this regard. Tried on 2 different android phones and happens on both, not sure about iOS.
