Ampeg rb 108 30 watts

Hi,

I have a Fender Rumble 15 watts combo(bass amp), I wonder if an Ampeg rb 108 is a worthwhile upgrade or is it a side move.The rb 110 has 50 watts, but is expensiver.

If you want to go twice as loud you need to increase power not by a factor of two but by a factor of ten, so going from 15 to 30 watts is futile, especially if you don't increase the speaker size. To make a change worthwhile you need 50 watts into a ten, minimum.

What is your amp for? Home practice or are you intending to play some gigs? If it's for gigs what is the line-up of the band?

Just for home pratice and play some gigs in the future, but for now just home practice.I can buy the rumble 40 s/h.

I have been listening the rumble and for 15 watts seems fine.I Guess I Will keep it.

These amps are basically just practice amps for home use at best. You cannot reasonably expect to gig with any of them in any kind of a venue.  Read BFM's post again.

You should keep on saving and be aspiring much much higher than another little combo. A used heavy set of of gear is what you will need for most gigging bands.
