Linus27
Apologies if we have a post like this already. As we all know, we all suffer from differing degrees of GAS so what's on everyone's shopping list if they could afford it (I can't) or if they find it? This is my current wish list. Fender FSR Precision Deluxe Surf Green (Passive or Active) - Rare as hens teeth Fender Japan 51 Precision Butterscotch Blonde or Sunburst - Readily available Fender Precision American Standard 2012 - 2016 Sunburst or Olympic White - Readily available Ibanez Musician Fretless in Walnut - Rarer than a rare thing Music Man Stingray Fretless - Possibly an option to get my old one back Fender Vintera II 70's Telecaster Bass - Soon to be released Aguilar TH500 - Readily Available EBS Triple Envelop Filter Pedal - Readily available Zoom MS60B Pedal - Done Origin Effect Cali76 Compressir Pedal - Readily available MarkBass, Fender or Ampeg Combo - Readily available Edited August 17, 2023 by Linus27

MartinB
According to this recent Andertons video, there are finally signs of life at Burns. I'm very interested in a reissue black Bison bass... but it remains to be seen whether it'll actually (a) happen, (b) be a reasonable price, and (c) be a good compromise beween slavish re-creation and sensible modern update 🙈

Rich
There's only three things on my GAS list, none of which I'm in a position to do much about at the moment. Wal Mk2/3 fretted 5-string 1965 Fender Jazz, ideally CAR with matching headstock the new Trace Elliot TE-1200 head

asingardenof
If money, time, distance and storage space was no impediment... Sadowsky NYC vintage J in 4- and 5-string varieties 1978 Fender P or J bass (birth year bass) Music Man StingRay Rickenbacker 4003 Ampeg SVT (not sure exactly which model but one of the all-tube ones heavier than a black hole) Barefaced One10, second Two10 and Four10 ...and a house with a space large and soundproof enough to store and use all of the above without teeing off the family or the neighbours. chris_b
At the moment I only have one thing on my shopping list. . . . a bass that weighs 2lbs. I guess I'm going to wait a long time for that! So far I've bought 2 7lb basses and an 8lb bass. All excellent instruments but I'm still looking. . . . . . so if anyone wants to sell a very, very light Sandberg, call me. 2pods
22" - 23" scale lap steel for C6 tuning, or 8 string for poor man's pedal steel
meterman
I’m pretty much sorted for everything I need, musically, but I still wouldn’t say no to: a Fender JMJ Mustang, in black, some replacement stack knob double pots to restore my Danelectro DC59, an MXR Phase 90, a looper of some kind, and an Alesis Midiverb II to replace the one that got nicked a few years ago. Decent pint of Guinness wouldn’t go a miss, either. But other than that I’m sorted.
Waddo Soqable
Nothing even remotely £ achievable, fantasy list rather than shopping list.. A nice old 4001 bass is the only thing really.
bass_dinger
A music desk with a pull out tray for a Kurzweil piano (which I can make by putting a second, stacked top on my daughter's old university desk, and cutting a sheet of mdf to shape for the tray). A repair to an Washburn XB 925 with a twisted neck. Actually, more likely to be a new neck! Space (which I can make by selling redundant and unused equipment). Time (which I can make by spending less time on basschat.co.uk!) Hiscox cases for the basses I now own. The old-style straplock buttons. Fewer basses. Talent. Fishfacefour
Something Warwick flavoured for my next purchase I think And Some light tuners to cure some neck dive. Other than that some new strings...

If the current reissues are anything to go by I expect it'll be pretty similar the previous model from 20-odd years ago.

thodrik
A four ohm 4x10 or 2x12 cab to pair with my old Trace Elliot valve amp. A wanted advert might go up at some point. After that, usually it is five string basses or overdrive pedals I don’t need.

Dazed
Like very much. Always have, hence owning so many. Just stopped playing because other reasons life death grief etc but I’m downsizing and trying to whittle down, up until joining this place sometime in the 00s I was happy and quite content owning 2 basses….. currently something like 20.
