Dazed Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Looks like a manufacturing issue, did they pursue it after the second failure? Quote
bass_dinger Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Here, a ukulele "threadless bass". It made me smile. Quote

They need to make them just long enough to go over the nut so you only wind on the skinny section of string like you do on a regular BG. Quote
Downunderwonder Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Send them that photo and they can rejig it and send you another one. Quote
Dazed Posted September 3, 2023 Author Posted September 3, 2023 Not sure about @Smanth uke but mine has large tuners, I haven’t measured them but they can’t be far off 1/2” Quote

The core is the bit that is under the big tension and the windings are relatively simply along for the ride to add the mass. Having the E windings wrapped around the peg puts a strain on that's not supposed to.be there. Quote
Dazed Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Ah yes I see what you mean. I assumed as the strings were designed for uke the cores would be exposed for enough length to allow that but looking again at the photo its not happening on E and G string. Downunderwonder Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Who's going to email Pyramid? Should be @Smanth and get a couple of free sets. 1 Quote
