Silvia Bluejay
Next time we play that pub we may revert to the big-subwoofer-and-linear-array PA setup... 🙄

Bassman68
Wowsers, He gets about that pill(sorry) punter? He used to come to about 75% of all the pub gigs I played, wherever I went? 😂😂

The BBFC's Guidelines state that strong language (e.g. 'f***') may be passed at 12 or 12A, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency and any special contextual justification.

neepheid
As usual, the bass player completely unaware until a PA speaker is trying to assimilate him. There have been times when I have relied upon the spacial awareness of my bandmates to avoid a trip to A&E also... 1
Silvia Bluejay
What's most weird in this case is that it happens after the end of a song, not during the song when you'd expect the pill- erm, the punter, to be dancing (or attempting to). I was taken by surprise too, although there would have been little I could have done to help from where I was, in any case.
Newfoundfreedom
I've taken pillo...... erm , punters outside for less. The last one got a spanking for grabbing the guitarists hat. 🤠 2

SPHDS
I had something similar a few years back, charming individual kept on trying to grab my mic, but due to the rat's nest of cables across the front of the (rather compact) stage, the PA speaker next to me would also try to make a bid for freedom.... (The guitard had a moan at me afterwards 'oh just let him have the mic.......ignore him' until I pointed out that I'd prefer not to be sat on by the speaker, or for it to flatten anyone......)
Cliff Edge
I’ve had that happen a couple of times. And one otherwise un memorable evening a female punter stumbled while trying to dance and put her head through the hole in the front of the kick drum.

asingardenof
This is where having PL insurance becomes necessary...

He knocked the unit onto me - I wouldn't be covered by PL. If he'd knocked it onto another punter then that's his fault and he gets sued, not us. This is one beneficial side-effect of having video at every gig we play ... there's no 'his word against ours' nonsense, we have actual evidence of what happened. Like most forms of insurance, PL is (in the main) a scam based on carefully-encouraged paranoia and of course a conspiracy against the laity. And no, I'm neither a conspiracy theorist nor a card-carrying Socialist Worker. 😂 1

Scam or not at least PL is pretty cheap.
Cosmo Valdemar
This has made me laugh harder than it probably should have. Congratulations on your almost Shakespearian diction when the speaker goes.
Happy Jack
London musicians are supposed to speak either Estuary English or Mockney. My Home Counties tones are way too posh for the pubs I play and I have to consciously 'lower' my accent to be acceptable.
diskwave
Oh dear...reminds me why I packed it all in and took up cello. Far better class of clientele what what..haha..and yes why not after 40 years of that silly nonsense and worse, never again. Mind you, the Albert Hall can go south pretty quick too so I've heard, something in the tea apparently. Careful..haha 1

Happy Jack
All good, thanks. @Silvia Bluejay and I are obsessed with lightweight gear and these Bishopsound Orion units tick all our boxes.
Silvia Bluejay
Except I better not end up under one of those because, lightweight or not, they're almost as heavy as me, and I would probably be turned into a pancake... 🙄
