TheGreek
I'm always looking at alternatives so while browsing I found details of ETS headless bridges - Made in Germany, they're used by quite a lot of high end builders and they make some nice looking parts. Price for the headless bridge is significantly less than similar bridges (ABM) - around £160. I went to the website but there's no way of contacting them. Apparently it's one fella working on his own and there is a 6 month turnaround. I did find one of the company's customers who can place an order and I'm waiting for them to come back to me with a quote. I'll keep everyone apprised on developments. https://www.ets-hardware.com/index.php/en/produkte-2

NancyJohnson
Don't you remember that a six-string version featured in that horrific cough, custom, cough Bongo?
TheGreek
£2,000. I could buy it, take the bridge off and throw the rest away. That'll deal with the 6 month wait...
tauzero
The headless Bongo was lovely (but needed finishing), but there's always the even lovelier handmade one of mine (handmade by someone else, I emphasise).
Hellzero
Speaking German helps a bit, Mick. 😉 There is all the data needed: https://www.ets-hardware.com/index.php/en/impressum-2 1

I've seen this before - I really like it - reminds me of the Warwick Dolphin I used to have. Can you leave it to me in your will? 😉😉

Waddo Soqable
The tuner units look to be very nicely engineered, I'm assuming they're basically an aluminium alloy in general, though the "claws" would need to be pretty robust, look like brass here.. This seems to be the bit that fails on headless units. 0
Giacomo
you can contact them here: [email protected] they reply usually quick (within 24 hrs) problem is they have 6 months production time and they have no stock available for headless bridge tuners.. TheGreek
I received a quote. A bit more than I was expecting TBH. "..300€ for a 4-string and 350€ for a 5-string ETS Headless system in gold. Spacing doesn’t matter." That's £256 for the 4 string and £299 for the 5er.
Rich
This 8-string bridge/tailpiece is a thing of beauty.
TheGreek
No doubting the quality of their work. I'm sure the 6 month turnaround time would be off-putting for some though.
Giacomo
plan B is Hipshot.. they are also 3 months turnaround, or custom made (e.g. one guy in Philipphines I mentioned in another post a while ago) - he's also out of stock, back in october

Hellzero
I bought a sixer headless bridge system from André and the quality is really top notch. Beware that there are bad imitations available on the internet. You can watch them on his Reverb store: https://reverb.com/shop/andres-gear-outlet-227 Or on his eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/usr/apassini98 Or check his website: https://novaguitarparts.com.br/portfolios/ponte-headless-para-baixo-4-5-e-6-cordas/

Dazed
I think I’ve spoken with Andre on Facebook a few times in the past. Always very helpful and informative. I will at some point place an order @Andre_Passini 😄 just waiting for the right project pieces to fall into my lap.
