That is gorgeous.  I had a 301, a totally awesome bass.  Tone full on it does a passable Rickenbacker, roll it off and it is more 'vintage' but with a diffferent voice to a Fender.  Surprisingly versatile.  An all-original Fender this age would probably cost double this.

A 301 which I'm now the proud owner of! With rounds it's an absolute Rickenbacker slayer, all the clank and growl you could ever need.

I had one of those I bought new from A1 Music in Manchester 1978 or 9. I had gone there to buy my long-awaited Fender Precision but for some reason bought the Guild instead. Sounded great, but I sold it when I needed money to move to London. Mine was white as well.

I had a 301 F fretless..Sounded and played the absolute buisness. Yet alas one more regret, selling that bass!!
