Aye, and, if memory serves, Godley and Creme not only recognised that but also used it as a reference when explaining their variant. 1
Waddo Soqable
They were flogging a make it yourself mini hurdy gurdy kit thingy on 'tinternet at one point, they were made of that laser cut thin "ply" stuff, allegedly playable but looked like they'd be pretty rubbish tbh.. Heard it too often… BTW is it me, or is Dreadlock somewhat politically incorrect? Dreadlock holiday I thought was losely based on some real life events that Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman experienced in Jamiaca, there was no such thing as being Politically Incorrect in those days. Gasman
Godley and Creme’s later album ‘Goodbye Blue Sky’ has some cracking numbers as well as some inevitable self-gratification; it focusses on the post-nuclear doom scenario and features harmonicas... bass, tenor, blues, squeaky, the lot. My fave track is ‘The last page of history...’
diskwave
They are a very clever lot indeed. Each tune is almost a unique genre in its own right..Stacks of themes. and off the scale chord progressions and melodies. Love em, and huge fun to play. Just don't ask as to what the name means....
