I was thinking about adding some kind of sleeve to the bottom part of the strap to conceal/semi secure the cable to the strap. Any ideas? If you know how long you want the cable, I can make you one. I have the connectors and cable in stock. 1 Quote

BassAdder60 Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 I’m still using the Shure system every gig and find it perfect Highly recommended folks Quote
keeponehandloose Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Its a great bit of kit but screams out for a couple of improvements. The tuner should be accessed by a long press on the footswitch with the A/B function a quick press. Also a USB charging port should have been put in the power lead. 1 Quote
JPJ Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 As I have a significant birthday this year, and as I have a couple of ‘festival’ type gigs coming up, I’m thinking about upgrading my Line6 G30 to the Shure GLXD16+. Nothing wrong with the Line6 other than the transmitter feels very flimsy (battery door already showing signs of failure). Quick question to the GLXD user community, does the transmitter have a belt clip or similar? I have two custom straps with loops to take a belt clip hence the question. Quote
jimmyb625 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Yes, it has a belt clip (wire) on it. 1 Quote
BassAdder60 Posted February 29, 2024 Author Posted February 29, 2024 And it’s worked flawlessly since I purchased mine. I pop mine in a Neotech pouch which goes in my back jeans pocket I wouldn’t be without it and you have a great tuner too Quote
BassAdder60 Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 Sadly due to much needed funds due to house move / relationship split I need the money so this is now up for sale on here Quote
cetera Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 My transmitter sadly seems to have an intermittent fault (sound dropouts) around the cable input on the transmitter. It's not the cable as I have 3 (incl Desgnacables) and they all do it. Anyone have any suggestions for what I can do, apart from buy a whole new system. No point buying just a transmitter (approx £300) as I may as well just buy the whole new GLXD+ system at that price...😭 1 Quote

dudewheresmybass Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 to be fair, If I have any issues with equipment I normally contact manufacturers first. It normally works out well, especially if the company are American Quote

Mine did that and when I realized it wasn't the cable, but in the socket, I was way out of any warranty and had no choice but to open the transmitter up and repair by resoldering the tiny wires back to the socket pins. Work carefully and pay attention because the rubber door can get pinched and not open correctly, but was relatively easy fix. So yes, periodically check that the retaining ring hasn't unscrewed itself. Edited November 4, 2024 by mikeswals Quote
mikeswals Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 My GLXD16 is one the best pieces of gear I invested in. I've had it since 2015 and done well over a thousand shows. I have two transmitters for it and kept in Neotech pouches, and have done all the current firmware updates from Shure's site. Quote
cetera Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Thanks all! I've found a local handyman who loves messing with stuff like this and he opened it up, identified the broken connections and mended it better and stronger than ever for just £20! 3 Quote

bungle73 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) Hi all. Considering getting a 16+ as I've been using a boss wl-50 Previously but new band has another wl-50 user and along with new IEMs and singers wireless mics that all use 2.4ghz...only one of us gets a consistent pairing / no drop out. Q1. What is glxd16+ like for an active bass Q2. Our lead guitarist has a glxd16+ and never has issues. Anyone have experience of two band members using these together and without drop outs? Wanting to get the 16+ for the 5.8ghz dual band optimisation but don't want to compromise the lead guitarists signal. Thank you in advance. Edited March 20 by bungle73 Quote

Use mine all the time with a Status and a Modulus which are two exceptionally ‘hot’ basses. I haven’t played in a band with two GLX units so I can’t help there. Quote

I have used active and passive basses over the last 8 years or so without issues. A2. I use a GLXD16 and a guitarist in one of my bands uses GLXD16+, so more restricted bandwidth than you're talking about and never had a whisper of an issue. I have however found that some 2.4ghz IEM systems can clash, but that shouldn't be an issued with a +. Quote
police squad Posted Friday at 06:36 Posted Friday at 06:36 quick question for you with the GLXD16+ does it come with a power supply for the receiver? On the shure site it says it does but no one else says anything about it (as far as I can see) I'm not putting it on my pedal board because I don't have one, I was going to velcro it to the top of my RM500 EVO II (I may rack my RM500 though, then it could go in next to it) TIA Quote

BassAdder60 Posted Friday at 09:51 Author Posted Friday at 09:51 I used mine on its own in the floor so I could use the tuner as required Not so sure I would of used mine sat on top of my amp and definitely wouldn’t stick it down but if it must sit on top get those neat anti slip mats and sit that on top of the Ashdown head. You might find Velcro will pull the paint finish off the amp when you remove it Quote
