Skybone
For as much as I like Rush, I can't stand Yes. Or Led Zep for that matter. Completely agree about the Glenn Hughes comments too, but bizarrely, always thought that Ian Gillan was ace. Go figure. Don't get me started on Greta Van Fleet... Well, it's the law that you must like Prince and hate Coldplay, and that you should know who Jaco Pastorius is.
Damnthatlazlo
I have friends who adore them. I can recognise their talent but doesn’t really do anything for me. While everyone is allowed to like different things. Certain acts i’ve found expressing anything other than the opinion they are genius or amazebaws is sacrilegious. Rush is one. odysseus
Personally, I love a bit of Rush, particularly up to Counterparts. The later stuff didn't really appeal so much. I like the punchy, melodic basslines and the prominence bass had in their sound, but it sure ain't going to appeal to the more conservative bass aficionados. That's what made them stick out, I guess. Horses for courses.

Loves a bit of Budgie... Super Sound, Chops 'n Change and some Earthy Funk Tones... older 70'sstuff, Power Supply/Night Flight in the 80's was a Marked Change... then back to it with Cuckoo Land in 2006. Off to walk the dog and a listen to Zoom Club!

That bass tone on Zoom Club... 😍 I was lucky enough to see Budgie a few times in their later years, although with a parade of weirdly 80s guitarists with far too much emphasis on fretboard pyrotechnics.
