NickD
Considering adding a Realist Copperhead to my bass, and looking at YouTube vids it seems like a relatively straightforward job. Is it though? I'm not a complete idiot, but for the sake of a few quid extra is it worth taking it in for fitting, of would you just get on with it? Thanks! tinyd
It's pretty easy as long as you take all the sensible precautions around preventing the soundpost from slipping by not removing all strings etc.
NickD
Cheers! It just looks like a slackening job (more on the bass side than the treble, obvs). I suppose if I feel my way through it I should be ok.
tinyd
Yep, lie bass on it's back etc and you should be fine! I really like my Realist Copperhead btw - it's the best of the pickups I've tried Edited August 4, 2023 by tinyd
Burns-bass
If you’re worried about the bridge moving, you can use masking tape to show you where the feet should be. Obviously remove this as soon as possible! I still have the bridge markers on my aluminium bass as I’m lazy.
chyc
I've had two basses left with marks on the bass top due to this pickup. It is aesthetic but I don't know if that's just how it is or if I installed it wrong.
