I'd be far more entertained if these long running bands, whose parents probably weren't even born when the band first formed, evolved and tried new directions. Much like Spinal Tap and "Jazz Odyssey"! 1 Quote
TimR Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I started a band along with a drummer in 1996. The band is still going with only the drummer as an original member. 1 drummer 6 singers 5 bass players 4 keyboard players 4 guitarists Various brass players in rotation, basicaly they all read charts so it's whoever is available for the gig. Although I don't think they have played any gigs this year, the drummer runs the band and I doubt he would leave it without disbanding it. Quote
BigRedX Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Most of these bands with one or no original members are essentially covers bands in everything but name. Quote
Grahambythesea Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 This begs the question when is a tribute band not a tribute band? Quote
