Mic Splitter for Monitor Mix. ART or Behringer or ??

I need to split mic feeds so that I can feed both monitors and FoH. The Y type cables seem like a poor way to do it so it seems that a Behringer MS8000 or ART Splitter would be needed. 
 

The ART is several times more expensive than the Behringer. Has anyone any experience of either device or another solution?

But a Y-cable with resistors, wouldn't that still be the simplest? Of course, the tinkering needed, why not build a tiny box with three connectors and Rs.

Yes, to both. The Behringer is fine and does the job.
