I’ve never been before but I’m going to try and get there, can or should I bring my basses?? There’s quite a few,🫤

Wals; 2xMKII 5 string

 “        2xMKI fretted/fretless

”         1x PRO II passive

“          1xPRO I reissue

smiths ;1x BLACK TIGER 5

   “         1x BT 4

   “.         1xBSR 4

 status; Empathy 5

musicman , Sterling 5

      “.               “          4

       “.               “ classic 4

  Stingray 4

Alembic distillate

Ibanez musicians x2

GB spitfire 4

And if I can fit in all in the van my barefaced cab(s) and tecamp puma/genz shuttle/streamliner.
Does anyone know if there will be any LFsys cabs there please? I like to compare them with the barefaced ones if poss. Thank you. Jeff

With a collection like that, it'd be rude not to bring your basses @tubbybloke68.. 😁

I'm aiming to bring Quinn, my 5 str unlined Harley Benton B-550FL BK.

Not sure a demo from me would add any value, but you are most welcome to give it a bash!

Darn these accidental double posts!

What to say ... what to say!

Ooooo ... I've been listening to Guy Pratt's book on Audible ... loads of genuine laugh out loud moments ... really looking forward to hearing him.

Now I'm back in my home I've been looking into building one of the BC112 cabs ... at present a Beyma SM212 is one its way to me from a kind BCer! :i-m_so_happy:

So why mention here?

I'm wondering if anyone coming next week might be bringing one of the BC112s loaded with such a driver so I can get an idea of sound/size/weight.

S'manth x

@Smanth, the LFSys Monaco I'll be bringing with me is the same size as the BC112. The weight will depend on the wood you use, but you'll be able get an idea of how easy it is to carry. I'll be happy to answer any questions about your build.

I am suddenly interested in fretless basses, and how easy they are to play.

I want to:

Experience lined v unlined; understand the difference in fretboard materials; contemplate mwah v no mwah.

Is anyone bringing a fretless bass to the Bass Bash, that they can demonstrate to me?

Thanks in advance.

I’ll have my Sire V7 fretless with me (it’s lined with a coated ebony board).  I’ve recently done a bit of set up on it (much improved sound), tried new strings, had a lesson to improve vibrato, and a play with the preamp (aka uneducated faffing).  So you are welcome to listen to me boring (ahem….enthusing) you with my lack of knowledge and even greater lack of playing skill, or you can have a play, or both.

Is anyone bringing an unlined fretless? I have one which I could bring if not.

Oh, good grief - I'm going to be a kid in a candy cake store, surrounded by bass and hopped up on sugar. I'll have to stick to tea! 🫖

That's how I felt last year.  First there was @Steve Browning's Mesa Boogie TT, then @cetera's Spectors, then @Merton's Trace Elliot TE1200 & @Happy Jack brought a reverend Wattplower...I had a great time.  Bad for Gas though, if you value your financial solvency, stay at home and watch Eastenders Omnibus.

I have a few names in mind. The reason I haven't chosen one is that this is a brand new design that's not even been road tested yet. The paint might even be wet. I'll be canvassing opinions at the Bash to find out whether it meets a need in the market.

It’s a gigging daytime for me, might make it for an hour but I’ve also got to contend with the massive M25/A3 interchange roadworks in process…..but have a great day everyone.

Then again…..if anyone was interested in the two basses I’m currently selling here, a fretless custom 33” scale and an Ibanez, the theory of ‘try before buy’ could be accommodated!
