mytilini Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Hi all - would appreciate some technical help please! I've just bought some Superwound 'Six-O-Six' brand FFB strings. They're Brand New Old Stock, being made by Rotosound's then-parent company James Howe Industries, eons ago! Roundwound, long scale, I'd like to know whether they were nickel or stainless steel, please? Any knowledge out there, as my Google searches are running no positive results. Thanks for all help you can give!☺️ Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 (edited) Try searching for "Superwound 606 FFB strings", as that is what they are actually called, not "Six-O-Six". From what I could gather from the Google search I did using the above mentioned search string it very much looks like they are stainless steel wound, but not 100% sure. mytilini Posted August 21, 2023 Author Posted August 21, 2023 Hi - thanx, I had tried both spellings and finally clarified that they are stainless steel.... still lousy 'orrible bailing wire tho'.... Quote
itu Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 (edited) 606 was SS, and 303 maybe nickel. Is there a lion hitting the strings, and red colour in the package? Yes, here you go: https://www.rotosound.com/blog/cool_timeline/the-funkmaster/ Edited August 24, 2023 by itu add link Quote
