bnt Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 (edited) I'm investigating a possible EUB purchase, looking for video examples, and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBv15FXBBvQ Eberhard was the first EUB player I ever heard, with Kate Bush, and has many recordings out on ECM. This ... just awe-inspiring. edit: I've just read that Eberhard is recovering from a stroke he suffered in April, but was sounding stronger and positive he'll be playing again. Wil
It's looking very good indeed: he's playing with Jan Garbarek next week, here in Dublin! zero9 Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Thanks for that. Hope you enjoy the gig. Let me know how it went. Wil Quote

bnt Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 Caution - EW didn't make it to Dublin, it was only announced at the start of the set. I didn't quite catch the name of the sub - Ivan Valyev is the closest I can get - but he did an excellent job on Warwick Thumb 5 (electric). Not the greatest jazz gig I've been at, due to other factors : I'm just back from Miroslav Vitous, at the Cork Jazz Festival, which was Bizarre in the best sense of the word. 8) Quote
jwbassman Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Just got back form the gig - he didn't make an apperance in Manchester either... By the sounds of things the same guy was on, I didn't catch his name either - played a Warwick fretless 5 - he was really good but the Warwick just didn't have enough mwah for me, I think my Overwater would have sounded better Thought the stage setup was cool and the lighting added greatly to the mood of events. There was some great playing and some really cool moments, one of those gigs you come out of (2 hours later - no interval) and go - what just happened? That reminds me I need to pop out and buy some more reverb before my gig tomorrow, oh and some wind noises too Quote
