Search function question

Hi

Is it possible to do a search just within one section? 

For instance, if i wanted to just search for 'fender jazz' in the For Sale section rather than the whole forum?

In a forum, yes, not a section - so if you wanted to find fender jazz in for sale, you go to bass guitars for sale and do a search there

Thanks for the reply. 

But what am I missing? Regardless of which forum I'm in, if i do a search using the same word but in different forums, I still gets results from the whole site, not just from that forum. 

Eg, typing (randomly) 'wallpaper' in the market place forum or basses for sale, i get results from the General forum.

Hi, if you click search then type fender  jazz , then topic ,you can refine it to just basses for sale , that should work 🙂

By default (if I search, I am not sure there is a configuration for this), the option is to search this topic (ie, basses for sale)

 

 

but the drop down menu on the right lets you change that to the entire site, the forum you are in (bass guitars for sale), this topic (xxx for sale £100), status updates, titles of topics etc

The drop down menu on the search text window isn't there on my phone browser, but as Reggaebass says, clicking on Topic further down then brings up the forum selection menu.

Or use google instead of the built-in search engine:

typed into the search box will do it.
