He lived locally to me although I didn't know him personally, a couple of my friends did.

I followed Bernie on facebook and in the last couple of clips that were posted, he didn`t look good. A sad loss to the music world and his family of course.  If there is some kind of after life, I hope he`s up there with his great friend Cozy Powell making a racket.

Cozy was best man at Bernie’s wedding.

This hit me hard.  Bernie was one of my heroes when I was in my teens, and I saw him a few times when he was in Alaska, the Moody Marsden Band, and solo of course.  Great player, but above all a kind, generous and humble human being.  No age too

 

Rest in Peace Bernie.  Thank you for the music.
