Hiya,

I was doing some sort of mundane chore on autopilot and idly thought about misheard lyrics. We all must have some, so I thought I'd start a thread to share them. I heard of someone who misheard the lyrics to a Monkees song....

 

"Then I saw her face....

Now I'm gonna leave her."

 

I can only think of one of my own at the moment but I'm sure I must have more hiding in my memory. Anyway here's mine, it's the opening lines from Level 42's "Something About You"

 

"How, how can it be,

that a love,

conked out of Kevin".

 

(it's actually "a love, carved out of caring")

For decades I thought that the lyrics to "Another Brick in the Wall" included "no dark star chasms in our classrooms", not "dark sarcasm".
