My SFG jazz arrived yesterday. Beautiful thing, very happy.

The neck has tinted varnish on it and is quite darker than the other photos I have seen on here (which looked more like natural maple). Are they supposed to be tinted?

Yes, tinted, but satin finish instead of the usual sticky gloss finish.

Damn this thread, had to buy one!

A B-Stock butterscotch/maple board version to be precise (no pun intended).  £245 delivered!

Thank you for confirming. The satin finish feels great indeed.

You're welcome.

I have four new Squiers and the necks are incredibly smooth.

Got lucky with the fretboard on this one, too.

My 40th P has a very deep coloured laquer on the neck. Lovely colour.

It's the only thing I'd change about my G&L Tribute LB-100 - the vintage tint has been applied a bit too enthusiastically and it looks like it has jaundice.

As opposed to your pee having a very deep colour. Stay hydrated, you know it makes sense.

I fell foul of this post too and found myself ordering a red precision for £259 delivered whilst mildly drunk on holiday (I had toothache, so I thought a purchase would ease the pain - it didn't)

It arrived on 22/9/23

It did it's first gig the following day

It did it's second gig the day after (A Sunday night gig for a load of tattooists in Magical Great Yarmouth - most unusual. We weren't really needed, but hey ho)

For the money it's a really lovely piece of kit. Setup was fine, finish was great. It also got the mrs Glambass seal of approval which is always a brucey bonus ("ooo that's pretty!")

I object to your choice of ranking. Could have gone alphabetically, chronologically or sorted by colour but nooooo...

HAHAHAHA ok, I went by importance, red first as they are more fiery and feisty, then blonde as blondes have the most fun and then green as they are green with envy of the other two 🤣

His name's not on the list so he can't join our ragtag group of 'Thomann discounted Squier 40th Anniversary Club' 🤣

Mine arrived last Friday as promised from Thomann. I have to say I’m loving it, it sounds so good and absolutely nothin like my American Deluxe P. The satin neck is the joy everyone so far has said and with a quick set up it plays well. Can’t wait to try her at a gig.

Only reservation is the pick guard which is really ugly, I can’t decide between antique white, black pearl or a tortoise to go with the Dakota Red

I got mine on Friday lunch time. Took it out of the box, tuned it, put it in a gig bag and gigged with it on Friday night. First time I have ever had a bass set perfectly for me straight out of the box.

Only issue I had were frets 4 & 5 had popped out slightly so there was a good deal of buzz but only on the E string so I had to avoid playing Ab all night. It was easy enough to tap them back in on Saturday morning and then gig it again on Saturday night.

I had planned to make it a backup to my Sire D5 but since that still hadn't arrived, I decided just gig with it instead.

The Sire arrives today 😁
