Just rescued this from a second hand shop for a tenner, hopefully I can turn it into something nice, as a cheap option I was thinking of giving it a slight roadworn look as there are a few nasty chips in the paint. Reading round on here it seems they are pretty good basses for not much money, any point in upgrading pickups and pots etc?

For the cost of a pack of new strings and wipe down you'll likely have a very decent Jazz there, assuming the electronics are in a better state than the exterior.

Did it get much use?

Yeah definitely, I originally bought it so I had a backup bass that I could carry in a cheap gigbag and leave leaning against a wall, ended up doing entire sets with it at functons. Was just a sweet bass that nailed the Jazz sound, I picked up a tort plate for mine (it was the sunburst finish) but apart from that it was stock. I later had a few Integras and currently have a SInsonido, something about the necks I really like.

Looks like it’s been in a river! Going to be very satisfying to remove the dna that’s on it and bring it back to life. Got some rubber gloves?

Might be a good investment 🤣

Cheers, I'll definitely gig it when it's up and running

@Steve1250... Good Darts!

Mine... Think the Pickup(s) were Artec...

Need a Tuner / Machine Head, or 2?.. Show a pic of the back and i'll match em up with the 2 that came off...

Looks really nice, yes I could do with a machine head, will post a pic of the back tomorrow.

That looks brilliant, I'd use it just as it is 😁

Yep, for once a non fake steampunk bass, good catch.

I was talking about the bass, not the tetanus, by the way.
