cd_david
My Peavey AmpKit Link seems to have died. Open earth buzz when it’s in. No audio going in and very low and noise audio (play along tracks)coming out. I’m presuming it’s a support issue as it’s about 20 years old now. Any personal recommendations for a similar/upgrade one? TIA Edited September 22, 2023 by cd_david
asingardenof
I have a Vox amPlug 2 and it's quite a nifty bit of kit and extremely portable. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Vox-amPlug-2-Bass/13GA
neepheid
I may struggle to find it, but I think I have one of these going spare *somewhere* that you're welcome to. Barely used. Hold that thought...
Lfalex v1.1
I like the Nux Mighty plug. I've had no issues with mine with any instruments. Long battery life and super portable/ lightweight.
neepheid
Found it in the second to last place I could think of! Only used a handful of times - just checked and thankfully the batteries hadn't leaked through disuse! Will this work?
Reggaebass
I use the Nux mighty plug too, it’s by far the best bit of kit I’ve bought in a long time for playing along with anything on my iPad or phone, there’s a thread on it if you wanted to have a read up david
pineweasel
Another vote for the Nux Mighty Plug, but be aware it’s a fundamentally different setup to the AmpKit. You won’t be using the GK app on the iPad, the Mighty Plug handles all the bass audio, and your iPad is only necessary for streaming any audio that you want to play along with. It’s more convenient; you only have the headphone cable so you can wander around while playing, and you can stream from any Bluetooth device. The only downside is that the Bluetooth lag means you can’t really watch videos and play along.
Bolo
I use the iRig hd 2, not sure if compatible with your software.
BillyBass
I've got several heads that have an Aux in and a headphone input, so, on those occasions I can't make any noise at all, I just plug my iPad and headphones into those. I bought a bass on a short break in Scotland recently. I practised at night in my hotel room with a GK Legacy/iPad/headphones. The GK Legacy has been my main gigging amp this year. msb
I saw this Hotone on kijiji for a good price and picked it up. It was just an impulse. I had no idea I would wind up using it as a headphone amp with my IPad. It does that well.
