Securing new brass nut

I'm fitting a new brass nut to my P-bass. I've removed the old one. What's the best way to secure the new one? Superglue? Epoxy resin (too brittle?)?. All suggestions gratefully received.

I turned it upside down, put it in a vice & made a few deep scores in the base, then I used Superglue.

superglue should be fine on a P bass, it's only when you have to deal with stresses on it that you need to do more, this was glued and has screws to keep it from moving :

All sorted now. Just need to work out how to get superglue off the kitchen worktop...

Could be worse.... you might have had to work out how to get your fingers off the kitchen worktop !
