So once again I bought a really sweet fretless and quickly discover I have no time to try master that particular discipline.

Amazaque body
Mahogany/maple neck
Unlined ebony fingerboard
MEC pickups
MEC 2 band EQ

Superb fretless bass, beautifully crafted instrument with some really nice touches like the wood control cavity cover and truss rod cover.

 

Unlined ebony board is in excellent condition. Has some marking from roundwound strings used in the past but is currently wearing flatwound strings. In lovely condition with no issues. Comes with nice Sire heavy duty high quality gig bag.

 

Bass is available for audition in Market Drayton, Shropshire.

 

Can pack for posting if buyer wants to arrange collection and their own level of cover etc.

 

Alternatively can meet west mids Telford, Stoke. Stafford, Crewe etc

That's a very good price (aka "cheap") for a bass of that quality.

 

I have the neck through Fame Baphomet, which is essentially the same, great build quality and parts.

Ergonomics a bit carp - you need to sit up to reach the tea.

I owned this bass around 5 - 6 years. The build is quite rediculous - the finest-grain, blackest ebony board I've ever seen; neck pocket fit is Swiss-watch standard; every detail is absolute top level. I owned a NT Thumb for years before - this is easily a match for a B/O Thumb, and can anyone hear a difference between the bolt-on and N/T (I'm sure I can't).

Cracking bass, I switched to a Sandberg for the usual reasons... 😂

Agreed the BEs are ridiculously well built. I have a BE4 Exotic and just (finally) got a matching BE5. Probably the best built basses I own, and nowhere near the most expensive. 600 quid is a steal.

Took this pic when it was mine, before a string change. May be of interest - the hand written matching numbers on neck & pocket. The neck and body are paired and fitted precisely together - nice touch
