Owen
This came in a MM US SUB I bought while playing Ebay Roulette. It was sold as being a Nordstrand, but I suspect it is not! Can anyone recognise what it actually is? It did the MM 2 band thing fine and dandy but I now have a different pre in there and want to flog this one. Hellzero
Looks like a very well done copy of the original 2 bands EQ, but not a Mojotone and certainly not a Nordstrand. Remove the double sided tape, maybe there's something engraved... but I had an original US Sub and it looked like this preamp. Owen
I guess it could be an original SUB one. The seller on Ebay had put a Seymour Duncan pickup in it so it is likely to at least be decent. Selling it would be easier if I could actually give it a name though! BassBunny
Could it be a Retro vibe Stinger?
Owen
I have looked at Retrovibe stuff and their boards seem to have Retrovibe on them. This does not. There are no clues under the DS tape.
Owen
Super close up action. Which I suspect will tell us nothing.
Owen
But here is a screenshot of an old school (better toooooooone, obv) Nordy MM pre.
Hellzero
Looks like an old Nordstrand indeed. The lettering is the same at the same place with the same references and the IC is the same. You know what it is now.
Hellzero
And yours must be a first generation as the IC is soldered directly on the circuit, not pushed in a soldered support.
Owen
Thanks for humouring me everyone And because it is an early one the tooooooone is better. Those are the rules.
