Honestly I never understood why 2Pac was and is regarded as such a great rapper. The 90's were awash with better MCs in my opinion.

From news reports, it would appear that there was an assault earlier on, and this shooting was 'retaliation' between rival gangs. I wasn't there, though, so it's just what CNN published. It may not be so.

It's true. There is cctv footage of a big dust up in a hotel lobby between the two groups just prior to Tupac's murder.
