Recently got hold of a BB-1X and it really does it for me. I couldn't tell you why exactly, it's just one of those gig-volume 'special sauce' jobs. I hope whoever pulls the trigger on this feels the same way!

I totally agree. At first playing at home I didn’t like it at all. In the context of a band it’s great! Boss really got it right with the BB-1x. 
I’m seriously tempted to buy this one to have a spare.
