True.

Got them already, though!

Mute/Tuner. Don't have to break the bank for a good one, and I think they're necessary if you're having to tune up when there's other noise going on.

[*]planet waves SOS tuner - can tune up accurately in silence
[*]shower hose washers (a quid for 20) to replace all my grolsch thingies
[*]microfibre cloth from the 99p shop to wipe down the strings after a sweaty gig
[*]behringer limiter pedal
[*]spare 9v batteries
[*]bass string winder

I recently bought one of those grip/finger/callus builder things and its actually helping quite a lot.

£16 from a shop, can be had for much less online.

A local guitar shop (who sadly has fallen into disrepute), i've bought a bit of stuff from him in the past (2+ grand) and bought two at the same time, one for my nephew who showed an interest in learning the guitar. Never checked the price, i'd be happy to pay that for it though. It's a lot more accurate than other portable tuners i've used and is less finicky too. Really easy to use and gets you in concert pitch in no time at all

Look in the gadgets bit on e-bay. I got one that constantly changes colours for £1.99 with free postage. :)
