NikNik Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 This bass caught my eye, and I wanted to hear the sound file.....😄 Le Fay Capone 20231005_140422.mp4 2 Quote
Rexel Matador Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 That bass puts me in mind of a pig roasting on a spit. Something about the finish plus those weird little teats either side of the bridge. Quote

They are to stand the bass on so it doesn’t rest on the tuners. they are crazy carving shapes. plus a pigs teats would be more down the body Quote
NikNik Posted October 6, 2023 Author Posted October 6, 2023 I really, really fancy one of those, but at £7K? Ut-ut. Quote

LukeFRC Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I'm very lucky to have found this at the right time and right price. It's exceptional. (a fair bit posher than I am used too, ideally the house project we're doing lets me keep it) 7 Quote

Having seen what these guys put in to the design and construction of their basses, they're definitely worth 7 times a production line assembled Fender. I know a lot of folks are more than happy to play a Fender, but I'm very glad folks like Le Fay are around. Just my 2p. Eude 1 Quote

For me, I doubt I would have got my Capone if it was a true headless… as my mental image of headless is 80s cheese that my personal taste doesn’t quite fit with… the faux headstock means I’m quite happy with how it looks and I imagine non musicians don’t even notice the difference. It may not have a use outside of aesthetics, but if you think it suits the bass - I personally love the look of it - it's not pointless. Mark 1 Quote
LukeFRC Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I've posted these before, and they really are not good photos... but... it really is quite pretty (the Ibby got sold, turned out I hated it!) 5 Quote
