mrbacco Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 (edited) Hey there! Between all my woodwork and a bit of playing, I was looking, recently, at one of my first loves: the Schecter Model T bass. I never played it, and I am not looking at buying it ( ... just yet ...). I read a few different reviews online: some say it's bad others it's good ... not sure why such a big difference in opinions? I like the look, the old style feature wood combined with P+J pickups. But, as I said, never tried. Is it worth? What do you guys think of the overall bass and sound? Cheers https://www.thomann.de/ie/schecter_model_t_session_4_ans.htm Edited October 6, 2023 by mrbacco Quote
Brian18242 Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I picked up one last month (one of the older sunburst models) and it's a great bass with a very rich sound, however, it's not the lightest of basses so I may move on in the coming months 1 Quote
jd56hawk Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) Nice basses, but I think they're overpriced, and I can't see myself paying that much with so many better basses available. Edited October 7, 2023 by jd56hawk 1 Quote
Rayman Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) Awesome basses. I had two as my main guitars for a couple of years. Great PJ tones, nice and growly, mine were both Korean made, I haven’t tried anything later. I’m not so keen on the ‘cowpoke’ style black/yellow colour, and I’m not keen on the 5 in line headstock on the 5er, but that’s just personal opinion. Nice basses indeed. There’s a Robert DeLeo dig one floating around online, around £500 ish, good bass. Edited October 7, 2023 by Rayman 1 Quote
MJJS Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 I own a 5er that’s fitted with Labella flats. It does the old thud thing very well. The neck feels wide at the dusty end. 1 Quote
Brian18242 Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Picked up this Model T a few weeks ago and customised it. New EMG passive pickups, New Bridge, Custom pickguard. Still in the process of deciding if to keep or sell 😁 4 Quote

NancyJohnson Posted April 22 Posted April 22 A few years back I popped into Andertons and spent an hour noodling in the bass room. Most of the stuff was a bit meh, usual mix of knackered/poorly set up Ps and Js etc. They had a Schecter in there, set up wasn't great, but honestly it was the best bass in there. I'd never buy one, but it was just a decent guitar, well built, well finished, sounded nice. 1 Quote

Has the Seymour Duncan passive pickups. I mostly use the front pickup and add just a little back pickup to taste. The coat is genuine 1980s fashion which I picked up 2nd hand recently. Perfect for the genre:) 1 Quote
