Will definitely be watching this. For me, and many others I'm guessing, Stax was real sound of soul whereas 60s Motown was more pop sung by black singers

 Maybe that’s part of it, but both were fantastic in their own way.

In my school band the trombone player (2 years older) worked in a music publishers. We used to get the charts for new Stax songs and they were in the set by the end of the week.
