Jazzjames Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Dear all, I have a Lakland 55-01 with a Glockenklang 3 bad preamp in it. I mainly play the bass in passive mode and wanted to know if I could swap the push/pull function of the volume pot to allow the bass to be in passive mode when the pot is in the downward position. At the moment I need to pull it up for it to be in passive mode. Thanks in advance for your help. James Quote
itu Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 If the switch is an ordinary DPDT, you can change the outer wires the other way around. Done. 1 Quote
Jazzjames Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 I thought this to be the case but just wanted to check. Thanks! Quote
BassBunny Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 Pretty sure Glockenklang preamps have the Volume/Switch pot housed on a PCB. It still may be possible to mod it but might need some investigation. 1 Quote

That said a push-push pot is a way better option to me... Quote

Jazzjames Posted November 2, 2023 Author Posted November 2, 2023 Thanks all for the input. The volume pot is indeed directly soldered to a pcb. I’m gonna leave it alone as the joints are super tiny and fiddly to get at. I’d be worried of overheating and damaging everything. The bass works just fine as it is, I just get a bit sick of the volume pot sitting up so proud from the body. Quote
