BassAgent
A few years back, I interviewed Paul Belgrado, a Belgian luthier who makes amazing basses. A bit retro looking and amazing craftsmanship. His basses have always been at the back of my mind somehow. Until last week, when I met him at the Dutch Double Bass Festival. I played one of his basses and was immediately sold. So, somewhere this week, this baby is going to enter my house. Specs: Thermo alder body, maple neck, madagascar rosewood fretboard, TV Jones Thunderblade pickups, Hipshot hardware, pearloid inlay and Luminlay sidedots. It's so light, so easy to play and it sounds so killer. Like a Jazz Bass but just a little bit fatter.

Cato
I'm a sucker for that unconventional body shape retro thing. That's a beauty.

BassAgent
Of course! https://www.paulbelgrado.be Paul is an incredibly nice guy, very humble and an amazing bass player himself. He'll always downplay his own building skills but his basses are fantastic. Edited October 23, 2023 by BassAgent
jonno1981
Love the headstock. Might be the first time I’ve seen a matching scratch-plate headstock and it’s brilliant.

Hellzero
Paul Belgrado even had one of his records (X-Legged Sally – Killed By Charity) produced by Bill Laswell. Paul is a very nice chap too and a hell of a player for sure. Very refreshing looking bass. 👍

Very refreshing looking bass. 👍 Years ago I got a phone call from X legged Sally but I told them that they had to get Paul for the job (he's not only an excellent luthier but he played far better than me). Luckily for them they did..
