Just out of curiousity- Does any one shares this feeling? You absolutely love and adore a tune, but only partially.

To me it´s  "Loan me a dime" , that fantastic Boz Scaggs/Duane Allman piece.

I love it to death and could keep on playing it endlessly ..... if there wasn´t that change from blues to jazz rythm.

Call it blasphemy, but I can´t help myself. At that certain point I have to stop and start again. It´s not that I´m not into some jazzy things but in this particular case it´s a no-go for me.

😞Hello, I´m Thomas and I feel guilty😞

Bohemian rhapsody. My favourite rock band. Their most known song. But I’ve heard it so much I need never hear it again. And Queen have better songs.

Fairytale of New York for pretty much the same reason.

I think there's a ton of songs that are so ingrained on me it wouldn't matter if I never heard them again.

Doubt very much that when I'm drawing my final breath that I'll have any regrets about not listening to Detroit Rock City one more time.

When I was in a covers band I used to love playing "Ain't No Sunshine".

I really love the chilled out vibe and the bass line. But I absolute detest the "I know, I know, I know........" Part of the song. It goes on for way too long and would make me cringe every time we played it.

A lot of what my parents used to listen to. A lot of our long car trips involved a lot of Chris De Burgh being played, and while I think most of it is overblown rubbish, there are still a few songs I think of fondly because of the memories associated with them.

One that I love to hate is Can't You Hear Me Knocking; I love the song apart from that stupid conga and brass jam in the middle.  That part sets my teeth on edge, and it just goes to show that heroin is bad for you.

The song wasn't complete when Bill Withers went into the studio, so he sang the "I know's" until he could record that verse later. Afterwards everyone said keep it. It doesn't bother me when it's done right. Trouble is most singers make a mess of it.  I know it's difficult when your toes are curling, but blame the singer not the song.

In this case the singer was my wife so it's more than my life's worth. 😂

Besides. My hatred comes from the original version. We actually shortened the "I know" section in our version. Which was an improvement. But it's just a really crap part of an otherwise decent song.

Leave it out altogether.

It's simple for me. Either like a song or ignore it.

Hate a piece of music? Why bother?

That´s the problem. "Loan me a dime " is one of the best blues tunes ever to my ears. I just have to ignore the jazzy part after maybe 7 minutes and that really bothers me.

Enjoy the much less pretentious original version:
