Well I’ve decided to return the Boss WL20 ( nothing wrong with it ) but I couldn’t get on with the dongle style

So I’ve exchanged it for a new Shure GLXD16+ and ordered a second cable with RH Jack from designacable !

I definitely shouldn’t of sold my Shure last year but hey we do these things don’t we guys 😂

100% reliable. I also went with the RH cable from Designacable who now supply all my cables. Great company.

My GLXD has never let me down since buying it and i've used it on stages with many other wireless systems.

For the moment. However as 5.8GHz devices become more widespread I suspect it will eventually be as flakey as 2.4GHz systems. Enjoy it while you can.

No, The channel spacing on 2.4GHz has overlapping channels and 2.4GHz is used by Bluetooth and other technologies. The channels on 5.8GHz do not overlap and there is no Bluetooth chatter.

Thanks for the info, did you try this with an active bass?

So... end of July, huh?  Well, it took until September but now that my Sire Z7 is finally here (and I remembered about this conversation), I can confirm that the Lekato WS-70 does work with this active bass at least.

Good result for you :) I had mixed results with WS-70 .  It strongly compressed and cut the top end 'punch' of my SG bass  (which is used in my most gigging band).  Guitar player found it way better than his previous wireless unit.  He is now the happy owner.  As with much kit, try before you buy if you can, If it works with your setup it is a great solution to channel issues.

As does the P10, but bear in mind Sire active basses don't boost levels much. The flat setting is pretty much the same as passive mode, despite being 18V preamps.

Unless you f around with the trim pot on the preamp... ;)

As they shouldnt. Was always of the opinion that any preamp that boosts the level of a conventional pickup system (ie, not an actual active pickup) is broken or just set up really badly. Luckily all of my switchable active / passive basses you can't tell which way is passive without changing the EQ.

Agreed, yet many amps have a 10dB pad to get rid of all that unnecessary active bass gain!

Which is why I have to plug all of my active basses (which is IIRC all but one of my basses) into the passive input. They all have outputs at comparable levels to passive basses.
