crward77 Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Cutting a long story short, been a bass player for a long time (my son is of a similar age to when I started). We went to the local store to see what basses they had in earlier today. My son likes the Sub style basses, so I encouraged him to try one. They had a pre-owned Ray 4. Of course I had a try (I play a cheap jazz and precision copy mainly - must of my money has gone on six strings as I love both) and it was totally different to what I was expecting. Really nice and easy to play, great for slap and fingers. Not sure what strings were on, but guitar had a nice loose tension. Was thinking about getting a nice jazz (Sire or CV, passive) but after playing this Ray 4 it has me thinking again. I love trying out guitars in store. I have a Thinline CV 60s after going in for a 50s CV strat a few years ago, and I think at some point a Ray 4 may appear. Really suprising when you get joy out of something you don't immediately think you will like. Hopefully I have attached a pic of the Ray 4. Just popped on to say that. 7 Quote
