bartelby Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 (edited) Link doesn't work but: https://www.ibanez.com/eu/products/detail/sdgb1_1p_01.html That's a fine looking bass for an awesome player... Edited November 8, 2023 by bartelby 2 Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 It's nice but isn't it just a regular BTB spec but fretless and with a nice top? I was hoping for something a little more out there. Quote
Bigwan Posted November 8, 2023 Author Posted November 8, 2023 Different preamp, but if it's what he uses, why design something new if that's what he's settled on for himself? Out there is all very well but Ibanez are in the business of selling instruments, if it's too out there how many will they sell other than to hardcore SD fans. Needs to work for players as well as SD fans. 1 Quote

He probably sounds like himself on any bass though. Anyway, it looks very nice and it's nice to see him getting wider recognition. 1 Quote
Raj_Shredder Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I’ve never heard of Steve before now. I actually really like the specs of this model. Good looking bass too. Quote
Ramsay777 Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Not my kind of thing but he is an incedible player, blows my mind how folk can play unlined fretless full stop, nevermind the pace that he plays Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Steve has had a phenomenal career -the list of albums he's worked on is full of influential recordings. He's mainly known for bands such as Death, Sadus and Testament, but he also rerecorded all of the bass parts for the last Megadeth album, after the last incumbent was caught in a compromising situation with a fan online. The fretless work on the Control Denied album - The Fragile Art of Existance is nothing less than godlike! A sig model that is long overdue, and will no doubt be a killer instrument 10 hours ago, Raj_Shredder said: I’ve never heard of Steve before now. I actually really like the specs of this model. Doctor J Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Not related to the bass, but good to hear him talk about some mighty albums 4 Quote
