Delamitri79
Hey folks I'm thinking of buying the markbass cmd 102p for gigging with a 5 piece wedding band and a 3 piece pub band. I play a 5 string g&l l2500 tribute and I'll have FOH support on both gigs. Will the combo sound nice and full for a stage monitor and will it handle the 5 string low end stuff pretty well? Many thanks Derek
Rayman
Should sound good in both circumstances…. I would just add, I had a 121P combo with a rock/pop covers band many years ago, and found it lacking a bit, both in terms of headroom and tone. Beautifully made, light, a nice thing, but just not my sound, even with a NY121 extension cab it struggled to punch through. I do know though, that plenty of others have been really happy with theirs.
Supernaut
Really happy with mine, no problems dialling in a great sound. Plenty of punch too.

peteb
I gigged an old Italian built CMD102 for quite a while - really good amp, no problems at all...
OliverBlackman
I pranked the mrs with mine the other day by turning it up to around 80% volume with my 5 string. Apparently everything was shaking and she was in a mood for hours, so yes it’s loud enough 😁

Downunderwonder
An HPF will go a long way to ensuring 5 string happiness.
songofthewind
Can't go wrong with a CMD102p.
xgsjx
I had one for about 5-6 years. Bought it about 15 years ago IIRC. Great combo & sounds best put on its side. I never played a 5 string through it, but my rig was synth/dubstep focused & went lower than the low B on a 5er.
