So, I’m finally getting around to putting some basses on wall hangers. Only issue is that the wall is unfinished/rough and I’m wondering how to protect the body from scratches? Please don’t recommend wallpaper.🤔

I bought some rubber half "balls" which can be mounted to stop the basses bashing against the wall.

I'll see if I can find the link.

The trick is to fix the hangers and the stops to separate 4x1 boards and then fix those boards to the wall. 

Easier and tidier if and when you want to remove them.

Put a bit of soundproofing foam behind.

I’ve got my basses on wall hangers and they haven’t hit the wall yet, if you are concerned then a piece of foam near the bottom stuck to the wall with double sided tape should do the trick

Rubber door stops! The little round ones with the screw in the centre that usually get fixed to the floor, fix one to the wall at the bottom of the basses body, stops it hitting the wall
